Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination as well as semi annual exams for our patients over 7 years of age.  Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems and facilitate early detection of disease.  We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best.

Comprehensive Wellness Programs: Along with a thorough physical exam these programs include age specific bloodwork, laboratory and parasite testing with vaccinations personalized to your pet's specific needs and their lifestyle risks.

Heartworm and Parasite Assessments:  We can develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to prevent heartworms and intestinal parasites as well as control fleas in your house, your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance, performance and healthy aging or specific medical conditions needing dietary management.

Behavioral Counseling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of behavioral problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.  We also refer to a local Veterinary Behavioral Specialist when necessary. We feel all dogs make a better pet with some basic obedience training for the dog and the owner.

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs. We routinely manage allergies, ear infections, diabetes, liver disease, kidney disease, heart disease, intestinal disorders, urinary tract problems, autoimmune disorders, glaucoma and other eye disorders. We have available IV fluids/pumps and an oxygen cage should they be needed during hospitalization.

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, cytology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Radiology and Imaging Services:  Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality digital radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.  This allows access to a radiologist's review within hours if needed. We have an on-site ultrasound that we can scan your pet's internal organs like the liver, kidneys, bladder and heart using the same ultrasound machine that many radiologists use.

Internal medicine consults: We offer many in house internal medicine workups and hospitalizations.  These can be personalized by specific laboratory testing, X-ray/radiographs or ultrasounds depending on the problems your pet may be experiencing. We routinely consult with specialists at the lab or local specialists in all fields to develop the best diagnostic and therapeutic plan for your pet's condition.  We can refer to various local internal medicine specialists who perform advanced ultrasounds, endoscopic and diagnostic procedures and help us with the diagnosis or treatment of more complicated cases, cancer cases or the need for 24 hour monitoring at a critical care facility.

Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients.  Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures by multiple devices.  All surgical and dental patients are given pre and post operative pain medications to insure a comfortable recovery.  We also require pre-anesthetic bloodwork for all of our patients within 30 days prior to the procedure to pick up any underlying conditions that may complicate anesthesia.

Surgical Services:  Our surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of orthopedic and soft tissue surgical procedures. For more complicated and specialized procedures we refer to several local specialists.

Dentistry:  Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.

Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification that is compliant with European and most international travel standards and includes a lifetime registration.

Health Certificates: We can provide your interstate or international health certificate needs providing you with the peace of mind that your pet is both in good health for your travels and will have the necessary signed veterinary documents.  For our clients who are planning to travel or relocate overseas we recommend using a pet transport company that will make all the necessary travel arrangements for your pet.

Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the individual needs of your pet.  We also carry a full line of prescription diets by Hill's, Purina and Royal Canin.

Emergency Care:  Please call us at 281-493-1919 if your pet is experiencing an emergency. During office hours we can get you worked in immediately or give you the needed first aid  advice to do before traveling to the office. You may also call this number after hours for the phone number to the local 24 hour emergency clinic.
